This is a list of the albums from the progressive metal genre that I like the most. There are several sub-genres of metal included, but they all have a progressive nature in common. Some notable mentions that are absent include Valley of Smoke by Intronaut and Unquestionable Presence by Atheist that just fell short of making the list.
