Lack of activity can play havoc with your life. If you’ve been spending long hours on the couch, its time you sweat it out. Halleluiah! Yes, you can stay fit by headbanging.

This year I’m going to do a monthly survey of the heavy metal releases as opposed to a numbered set of them. The releases may actually come out slightly later than the month be summarized as seen from the Orange Goblin album, which has received most of its press this month regardless.

I know that this is going to really frustrate certain people who believe that one kind of music is special, while others are not. I used to think that this was true until I started getting into all sorts of music. One day I realized that classical music can have the same affect on me as heavy metal does. Those who know Yngwie Malmsteen might understand where I am coming from. I am not a Malmsteen fan but if you understand his roots, then you will see that one kind of music is intimately linked with other types. You simply can’t escape this fact and more people are opening their eyes and leaving the debates about which type of music is better than others. Join me if you will but join at your own peril because not everyone is going to agree with you if you believe this.
