Great duet performance of Casey abrams and Haley Reinhart during American Idol 2011 tour. They are really best duo of the year.

James Durbin on American Idol.

Yes, Jacob Lusk is finally shown the door. And about time too. Week after week, he’d survived the elimination round while we watch helplessly as one by one of our "favorites" exit the Idol stage. Of course I’m using the term "favorites" quite loosely here as my No. one "favorite" American Idol contender James Durbin is still on board. But I’d lost my favorite gal Thia Megia many weeks back and of course my 2nd level favorites like Casey Abrams and Paul McDonald had already been eliminated due to the "incompetence" of the "voting Americans".

Yes, Casey Abrams will surely go down in "American Idol" history as the contestant who exited the show in style. And it comes to no surprise as he had indicated on many instances that he had a "heck-of-a-colorful" personality!!
We have had the pleasure of viewing his crazy antics "on" and "off" the Idol stage. Can anyone ever forget the growls he inserts into most of his performances? And all the fuss made on his hair and beard? And yes, we must not forget the time he was ousted but was promptly saved by the "Judges’ Save". The image of a "Casey meltdown" still lingers in my memory.

Does James Durbin need to ask the entire world if you will still love him tomorrow? No he certainly does not. We loved you "yesterday", we love you "today" and we will definitely love you "tomorrow"!!

Now I’m a little confused tonight. Are we watching the Top seven "American Idol" hopefuls in action or are we in the Finals when we bring out the rest of the season’s "rejects". Okay, I’m sounding a little mean here. That’s not exactly right. I should have phrased it as "America’s rejects" seeing that folks like myself being outside American soil have no voting privileges whatsoever but have plenty to gripe about.

One thing I gotta say – James Durbin is fearless! And he’s definitely an "original". He decides what he wants to sing and how he wants it sung and I certainly agree with him that he’s the best judge to decide that – not Jimmy Iovine, not the judges and certainly not the public. He’s on "American Idol" not only to win but to let us know that he’s not playing "music politics" which is pretty evident this season.

I must be honest here. For me, it was no "rock ‘n’ roll" on "American Idol’s Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Night" simply because I found the entire night absolutely boring. I was expecting a really "lively" evening but the songs selected by most of the contestants were not even close to raising my blood pressure by an iota. I’m no "rock ‘n’ roll" expert I must confess. And I’m sure all the songs that were sung during this week’s theme are classified under this genre but for common folks like myself, I imagine songs with a little more "oomph" in them. Think Elvis Presley’s "Jailhouse Rock" with all that swagger and leg shaking. Or Jerry Lee Lewis pounding wildly on the piano while blasting away on "Great Balls Of Fire".
