Music – an outlet for one’s "creativity". And, when one becomes internationally known for this talent, and uses one’s popularity and influence to highlight the plight of the less-fortunate, I can only cheer them on! And to my knowledge, many artistes in the field of music have been involved globally in their quest to make the world a better place. Too many to mention here. Then "why?" you ask, am I writing an article on this subject. Well, the reason is because I had just watched a repeat of The American Music Awards of 2008 a few hours ago and among its programmes was the AMA Award of Merit given to Annie Lennox for her work and humanitarian efforts. And obviously, this revelation has moved me deeply.
