About Whitney Houston and about my favorite song sung by her, One Moment in Time.
I ever heard that singer Whitney Houston addicted to cocaine. It made me sad. Yesterday, I read another sad news that Whitney had problems with finances and reportedly bankrupt because cocaine dependence has drained a lot of money.
Whitney Houston is not my favorite singer but two Whitney’s songs: “One Moment in Time” and “When You Believe” are my favorite songs. However, I do not really like the most phenomenal hits of Whitney: “I Will Always Love You”.
The song “One Moment in Time” will always be my favorite song. I heard it the first time in the library when I was a student. I love the lyrics of this song very much as well as the melody.
“One Moment in Time” is an Emmy Award winning song written by Albert Hammond and John Bettis. This song is written for the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 1988 Summer Paralympics held in Seoul, South Korea.
The song’s melody was inspired by the timeless figure of Elvis Presley, with Hammond imagining it as being sung by Presley at the opening of the Olympics. Too bad Elvis Presley was not in this world anymore when this song was written.
I am saddened because Whitney Houston, who sang this song very well, did not do the lyric of this song in her life. This is the lyric of “One Moment in Time” for us to ponder:

Each day I live
I want to be
A day to give
The best of me
I’m only one
But not alone
My finest day
Is yet unknown
I broke my heart
Fought every gain
To taste the sweet
I face the pain
I rise and fall
Yet through it all
This much remains
I want one moment in time
When I’m more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I’m racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
I’ve lived to be
The very best
I want it all
No time for less
I’ve laid the plans
Now lay the chance
Here in my hands
Give me one moment in time
When I’m more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I’m racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
You’re a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time
Make it shine
Give me one moment in time
When I’m more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I’m racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will be
I will be
I will be free
I will be
I will be free
Or if you like, we can see great performances of Whitney Houston while singing this song at
the Grammy Awards.

Hopefully in the rest of her life, Whitney again will be reminded of this song, do her best and I hope Whitney can finally truly free from the problems she is facing now.

It’s a pity to see Whitney Houston addicted to cocaine. Hope she can stop letting this drug ruin her life.

I love all of Whitney Houston’s songs. She was a great singer. This is devastating news. I really hope she can go to counseling.

She was such a sweet girl to turn into what she has become. It’s what drugs will do to you.

She was a lovely girl, it’s sad to hear her speak now, not the same girl she was. I hope she gets herself back in line.
