Where can you find new music? There are plenty of places to find it.
There may be times that you feel that your playlist is a little dry or empty and you want new tunes to put in and listen to. However, where will you find new music? There are plenty of sources. A good source is online.
YouTube
YouTube, the video hosting site is known for people uploading songs onto the site for people to see. There are some channels are great and are known for uploading music there.
You can use the search bar on the site and type in whatever you want (Ex. The genre you’re looking for or your favourite artist) and it’ll have results. Click on the videos and give the songs a listen. If you like it, then you already have a potential new artist to listen to. You may also listen to similar artist by clicking on the video on the video suggestions side of the video.
Myspace and Facebook or Any Other Social Network
These two sites are pretty popular as social networks. Facebook is really big but Myspace is dying. However, MySpace is still being used by bands so it’s not a dead source. Pretty much search up whatever you want and take a look at the artist page, play a few songs off their playlist and if you like it, there’s new artists for you.
Blogs
Blogs are a great place to get new music. Blogs that post music will always post new artists and bands to check out. Pay a visit to those blogs and you can check them out. If you like those artists and bands, you have new music. If you’re liking what the blogs are showcasing, you should subscribe to them!
Forums and Websites
There are some websites that will feature some artists and bands with their music. You can check them out and listen to them.
Forums are a great place to find new music. In some forums, there could be something like a find new music thread or forum section dedicated to it. Go there and request what you want and other members will help you and suggest some new artists to listen to and some examples. This may be good since members may share the same taste as you and will want you to listen to them and expand your tastes.
Album Reviews
There are some sites that’ll do album reviews. Pay a visit and spend some time reading a review. Any kind will do but usually ones with high scores are good but reading any review and see if it’s something that you’re looking for. Check them out and see if you like it.
Record Label Websites
Check out what label your favourite artist is signed on, check out their website and check out the other artists that are signed on the same label. Record labels may usually sign artists of that one style or genres and they may share a theme there. If you’re looking for a specific kind of music, this method may be useful.
In conclusion, there are tons of ways that you can find new music to listen to online. Of course, you should also ask your friends on new music and check them out as well. Pay a visit to all the places, give the artist a listen to their songs and if you like it, you may as well purchase their singles or albums and become a fan of them.
