A countdown of the 20 most played singles of 2009. Beware shock results!

Today it has been revealed what artist has had their song played the most in 2009. The results have come from the music licensing company PPL.

They have calculated a combination of who has had the most airplay and public performance.

In my opinion they are rather shocking results as one would have thought a certain Lady Gaga would have been number 1, 2 and possibly 3, as whenever i turn on the radio, that is who i hear playing.

So, here is the countdown:

20. Take That- Up All Night

Catchy little song i suppose from the reformed boy band.

19. Take That- Greatest Day

Don’t worry this is not a take that countdown! Again a good song, although can get a little repetitive if you hear it too many times.

18. Alesha Dixon- Breathe Slow

As far as i know this was her first solo single and did a great job. She has now gone on to bigger things, what with being a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, after winning the show as a contestant a couple of years ago.

17. Ciara Ft Justin Timberlake- Love, Sex Magic

I really did not like this single when it was around, but i guess it is okay now. They did good to come 17th.

16. Enrique Iglesias- Takin’ Back My Love

I really like this song and thought it was the best single on his album.

15. The PussyCat Dolls- Jai Ho!

I am not a lover of the PCD but i know a lot of people who like them and people obviously do to sell so many singles and get airplay.

14. Pink- Sober

I am a massive fan of Pink and think she is incredible, no matter what she does. Sober was a very catchy song with a good video to go with it.

13. Kelly Clarkson- My Life Would Suck Without You

Kelly Clarkson is the best thing to come out of American Idol. She really does have a strong and powerful voice which shows on this single.
