A review on this debut album of this Belgian Celtic punk metal band that was released in 2008 and I wonder how it could have remained out of my attention for so long.

I found this band on line last month and because they are from my home country, I surely had to listen to it, also because I like loud music and all things Celtic.

I was not disappointed receiving this album. It is a little different from the usual folk metal, but surely not lesser.

It is hard to compare this band. As far as I can tell you can put them in the same category as The Real McKenzies.

To be honest: I believe their might be a larger audience for this band. Next to their crazy loud madness, there is also a slower song on the album: Those Were Good Days.

It is this song that proves this band consists of great musicians. Also the performance of Scotland the Brave is sublime. The bagpipes rule and the loud rock guitars always seem to not over tune it, so respect for tradition is kept.

Many songs might refer to he lifestyle of the band and the clip of the song Black Tartan Clan shows that they do take things with humor. Songs like In The Flesh might also be a tribute to tattoo lovers.

Also the William Lawson’s slogan inspired No Rules Great Scotch is a great uplifting song that shows the spirit of the band, that is definitely having fun and standing up for each other as friends.

I am also sure many rock and punk lovers might like this album. Only people who like only soft, quiet tunes might be disappointed by this band. Also those who do not like drinks and fun might turn away.

The CD is available on the website of the band and you can also here some tracks there.

So far I am looking forward to the new album they are recording. It is hard to sit still listening to this bunch of madness and I might look forward to see them perform live.
