Heavy Metal started from a band called Black Sabbath. Heavy metal grew much bigger from a sub genre called Thrash Metal which started from about 1979 and still bands continue to make that unique sound.
Heavy Metal has been around for decades, many people believe that the earliest heavy metal band was Black Sabbath which they recently got back together and started righting more music as of 11/11/11. Now Black Sabbath isent the only heavy metal band from that period of time. Many bands had started to become inspired by Black Sabbaths amazing fast guitar solos or from Ozzy Ozbournes insaine screaming. Musicions started to form bands that had that same uniqe speed and power such as MoterHead and Judas Preist a late 70’s band that really struck the music industrie with their melodic solos that feature such insaine guitar licks, sweep picking pull offs and hammer ons. Another great 70’s power metal band that are touring right now is Iron Maiden formed by Steve Harris(bass guitar/vocals) from Leyton London. Iron Maiden is one of my favirote bands right now. Their songs are a lot more theme based talking about war or even supernatral topics such as the devil. I recently had saw Iron Maiden on tour in 2010 and they blew my mind out. They came back this summer of 2012 to play again on the same tour with a rock legend from Detroit Michigan Alice Cooper, I was head bangging by the second song that they had played. Alice Cooper was amazing to. Which leads me to my next favirote musicion to talk about is Alice Cooper. Alice started to play local highschools around metro Detroit in the mid 70’s he’s known for his stage aperrence and items props that he uses on stage such as cutting his head off on a gillitine or hanging him self from a rope. One of his most famouse rock songs is Schools Out. As the 70’s started to fade away the 80’s would soon take the music industrie a HUGE step further. More bands started to appear such as a band from Los Angeles California, Metallica. Metallica released their first album Kill Em All in 1983. Kill Em all was a huge album for a lot of fuetor bands such as Slayer and Anthrax. Kill Em All was one of those speed metal albums a.k.a thrash metal that soon became well known. Bands such as Slayer took that album a whole step further and faster. Slayer realeased their first album Show No Mercey which i believe is one of their best albums. It combined of super fast picking and double bass drums. Many heavy Metal bands came after that, I could go on and on about this great genre of music but ill stop here at my list of heavy metal bands to listen to.
