“Fearless” is the second album by country pop artist Taylor Swift. Even if you are not into country pop, “Fearless” will win you over with great melodies, powerful lyrics, and an amazing production.

If you thought Taylor Swift’s first CD was good, wait till you hear her sophomore CD “Fearless.”Although her new album is more pop than country, it’s enjoyable to listen to for many different reasons. Even though the songs are written by a teenager, they are very strong and can appeal to a broad audience. Young girls can hear what they can look forward to as teenagers, their moms can remember their own teenage years listening to the CD.

Taylor Swift opens her CD with the powerful song “Fearless” and ends with a political anthem called “Change.” Of course “Love Story” is an instant hit with catchy lyrics, great beat and a fairytale ending. Which girl doesn’t dream about being swept away by Romeo? Then there is “Fifteen” (“cause when you’re fifteen and somebody tells you they love you you’re gonna believe them”) which will give insight to younger girls for what’s to come in high school. Another great song in my opinion is “White Horse” which was used on a recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy. “I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairytale… it’s too late for you and your white horse to come around.” Heartbroken girls will be crying into their pillows while listening to this tune.

In “You Belong with Me” you can see and hear that Taylor Swift is your normal teenager struggling with teenage issues. “But she wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts / she’s cheer captain and I’m on the bleachers.”

“Breathe” is a good example of her more acoustic side – a simple but nice song she wrote and sings with Colbie Caillat. I love the humming in this song. “The Best Day” is a simple but great song, which is written about her family. Another relationship gone bad is described in “Forever and Always” which is also known as the Joe Jonas song. For those who don’t know yet, Taylor dated one-third of the Jonas Brothers. It is similar to “Picture to Burn” yet less angry.

Listening to Taylor’s music is like reading her diary or perhaps reading every girl’s diary. It’s genuine, real and raw. Taylor Swift is a brilliant songwriter who in my opinion is unstoppable and fabulously FEARLESS.
