Symphonic metal is one of life’s greatest comforts. Having all of the 90 different instruments from a symphony into one song is just indescribable.
Symphonic Amazingness
Symphonic metal, a music genre that is becoming increasingly popular, requires much talent out of the artists who choose to go that route in writing music. Describing symphonic metal is a little difficult, since it is classified as a subgenres and has several subgenres underneath it. To state it simply, it is metal with symphonic elements mixed into it. Harmonic vocals play a huge role in this genre. Symphonic metal is often pictured in many people’s minds as an opera singer combined with guitarists, drummers, keyboardists, and sound effects. Symphonic metal is an awesome genre of music that is very comforting at different points in your life and inspires and motivates you in your hardships or struggles.
Music that has many different types of instruments combined and played at the same time is so spectacular and epic. It intrigues me as to how someone could not like to listen symphonic metal. The extremely wide variety of instruments used to make these songs, the different sound effects that are put into each song, and the fantastic opera-like singers make symphonic metal into what it is today. For every symphony there are approximately 90 different instruments. Now take all those instruments and
combine them together to create a beautiful and harmonic piece of work. Now, of course with a four or five man band it will be hard to use ninety different instruments, but that is where they use the sound effects to make up for it. Sound effects play a huge role in symphonic metal. They help, make, and determine the “mood” of the song. Each sound effect is carefully played over and over again to make sure that it flows correctly within the song and appeals to the listener. Nearly all symphonic metal bands have a keyboard player, which also can give the effect of an opera or symphony when adjusted and played correctly. Some people don’t like symphonic metal because they think it is a little fruity. In other words, they do not want to listen to this awesome music and its fantasy lyrics because they think that it is for little kids. However, if you have ever paid close attention to the lyrics of different songs throughout this genre, then you will know that most of these songs are beautiful. Not only are they beautiful, but they are often sad and depressing but at the same time encouraging, motivating, and inspiring.
