Michael Annthony, former bass guitarist of the famous American band Van Halen, is a man who built his career thoroughly around music.

. At only seven he started his career in music by joining a marching band at Dana Junior High School in Arcadia, CA. As a teenager he developed an interest towards guitar. After some time he switched to bass guitar. Michael’s first band was Poverty’s Children where he was the bassist and lead vocalist. Before joining the renowned band Van Halen he also played in Black Opal, Balls, and Snake. In 1974 when Mark Stone dropped from Van Halen, Michael was offered his place in the band as bass guitarist. Until his departure in 2005 he performed in several albums released by Van Halen including ‘5150’, ‘Van Halen’, ‘OU812’ and award wining ‘For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge’. After leaving Van Halen he joined Chickenfoot, a hard rock supergroup, in 2008. Michael has been working with Chickenfoot ever since.
