Portuguese Singer reveals his first Music Album.
Miguel Maat was born in Lisbon in 1978.
His initiation into the world of music began in 1988 at the Portuguese Military College, were he studied. There he took part at the Military College Chorus during 8 years, first as a Soprano and later as Basso.
In 1992, already playing guitar he was invited to the Collegial Band (Covers), which acted mainly in secondary schools party’s or balls. He played with that band until last year of Military College.
In 1996 he entered the Portuguese Military Academy as a Military Engineer Cadet.
In 1998 he was invited to enter Military Academy Band, where he remained until the end of the course. There he mainly acted in internal cultural festivities and in cultural events with the other Academies (Navy and Air force).
During that same year, he joined a musical project of the Portuguese Police Academy.
Subsequently he kept playing and singing in bars, clubs and private parties with the musical ensemble “Impressão Tua”.
His first solo album “No silêncio dos teus olhos – In the silence of your eyes” have had the crucial contribution of important personalities of the portuguese musical scene, including Nani Teixeira and Gonçalo Pereira, among all the other musicians who much contributed for this work, specially João Madeira.
This album is a characteristic sound selection of some recent year’s themes. Although as a Pop/Rock album, it keep’s certain gigs of Swing and Funk, and it will certainly contribute for the enrichment of the Portuguese musical heritage, as well as it will promote Portuguese language and Portuguese authors.
