Describe the increasin popularity of rap music.
Rap music has been greatly increasing in popularity over the past few years. Rappers such as Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne have brought a whole new group of followers to the genre of rap music. Wiz’s song BLack and Yellow helped make him go big time along with the genre of rap music. His song got much playing time on the radio nationwide and many people listened to it as entrance music such as the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rappers such as Eminem and Lil Wayne have revolutionized the genre by not only bringing many more listeners but by rapping about events that are currently happening in the world and be honest. These things give people a reality check and make them realize what is going on around them in the world. Another rising subject in rap is white men rapping such as Machine Gun Kelly from Cleveland and Mac Miller from Pittsburgh. The state of Pennsylvania has turned out a few good rappers as of recently. Both Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller are from Pittsburgh and Meek Millz and Cassidy are from Philidelphia.
The trend of rap music is going to continue increasing in popularity in the next few years as new faces are going to make a name for themself and replace legends such as Jay-Z and Kanye West.
