Revisiting The Temptations

Voices of Recognition.

Why do we concentrate on the Temptations more than any other group to come from the House of Gordy’s is a story unto itself? Maybe because of the name “TEMPTATIONS” that seems to affected every member in this group in some way.

You might say it’s similar to the Drifters, who had the distinction of having members drift in and out of their membership. Where we know Bill Pickney, Clyde McPhatters, Ben E. King, Charlie Thomas and Johnny Moore and many others?

We intriqued by the memberships and those who added to the Temptations mystique. We admit that Dennis Edwards contributed greatly to the position that he assume in the sixties. Especially with more pressure on him to fill some mighty shoes.

We salute the great Richard Streets , who stepped into a position that was a test trial before he was elevated into position and for many realizing he hardly gets the respect he earned. What can’t be said about Otis Harris Junior, who we call Damon Harris? True Temptations fans don’t debate about his similarity to Kendricks, we embrace it with honor because  the stlye was a requirement.

We see similarities between the greatness of Ron Tyson and Glenn C, Leonard but some afraid to gives them the respect they earned as a members and that they truly deserve honor of the most vital position that makes the Temptations.

We found out thanks to Rare Earth that Ruffin or Williams could have sung get ready but Kendrick placed a softness that was a requirement by Robinson as producer, since songs was based on the writers seeking the right voice.
