A breakdown of the album.
1. Shot for Me
Lyrical breakdown
This song is Drake’s way of telling the women that he used to date that he’s famous now, and that the men that they left for him will never reach the level he has. He implying that those women must regret it now because he made them who they are and they should take a “shot (hard liquor)” for him as well.
Style
The song features an amazing chorus that is easy to fall in love with and the lyrics are well-developed.

“Shot for me” earns an 9 out of 10; for it’s addictive chorus and versatile lyrics.
2. Motto
Lyrical breakdown
The lyrics for this song are incredible varied; metaphors, references, play-on-words. Lil Wayne’s unconventional rapping style matched with Drake’s seemingly airy confidence presents an unbeatable duo.

The song’s lyrics are about how Drake came from nothing into stardom. You began to notice that this is a reoccurring theme throughout the whole album. Unlike last year, however, there are no regrets.

Style
The song starts off the gate with strong lyrics and a great beat. An addictive song.

“Headlines” earns an 9 out of 10; for it’s clean, dramatic lyrics and calm chorus.
5. HYFR
Lyrical breakdown
This song’s lyrics are about seizing the day; and how everything is great in Drake’s life now. It’s one of the few records from take care in which Drake actually raps throughout the song. Lil Wayne was a great addition.
Style
The song featured fast-paced rapping mixed in with a great chorus from Lil wayne.
Rank (Out of 10)
“HYFR” earns a 9 out 10; for it’s unque rapping style and memorible chorus.
Overall, the biggest criticism of the album is that it’s too soft for hip hop. However it’s the only album in which Drake utilizes his best skills, “His R&B singing voice along with his rapping” while still remaining true to his personality. Drake challenged the traditional “Gangster rap” roles in the hip hop game.
