Relient K: You’re Essential to Survive, I’m Gonna Love You All My Life

One of my favorite things to do is to discover new, beautiful music and artists. Each time I find a new song or musician that I think is exceptional and noteworthy, I immediately want to share it with the world. Recently, I’ve stumbled across Relient K and fell in love!

Check out my favorite picks from the songs I’ve been listening to from them:

“Getting Into You”

It looks like this song was in the Twilight movie and the minute it I heard it I was touched by how soft and beautiful the singer’s voice is. It’s like a gentle lullaby, breathy and wonderful. This song really speaks to falling in love and the question we begin to ask ourselves when we start to feel more vulnerable and allow ourselves to either pull away or fall deeper in love with someone. I love the hopeful message that what you’re getting yourself into is someone who says he’s in love with you and would do anything for you; truly romantic and lovely.

“When I Go Down”

Next, I tried “The One I’m Waiting For” but didn’t care for it too much and thought, uh oh, hopefully this band has more than one song I’ll enjoy. That song was just a bit too hard, especially when the title sounds like it’d be another soft romantic tune. Well, thankfully, this song “When I Go Down” resembles the soft charming style of “Getting Into You”. I’m happy with this song as well, because it just feels so genuine and romantic. The harmony is a nice touch as well, gives it a sweet magical feel.

“Let it All Out”

Ah! Another nice ballad, love it! They have such a young, fresh sound. It’s really refreshing. This song just keeps that consistent hopeful, innocent feel that the other songs have as well. The passion in each song is just so authentic and reminds you of the untainted gentle heart. Even the lyrics of struggle are filled with a hopeful message. Another wonderful song!

“Up and Up”

Now this song’s fun! It has a lively beat, that wakes you up and makes you want to get “Up” and dance! Wow, so far I’ve listened to five of their songs, and love four of them. Now that’s a great band. Ah, I love the chorus as well. This music’s got positive energy and just makes you feel good.

I love these boys, not only are they talented, but they’re complete cutie pies!!
