Article number four in this series is a compilation of some of the songs that can be found on my exercise playlist on my iPod.
1. “Bubbly” – Colbie Caillat
This song is the first on my playlist because it’s a good song to warm up to. It’s upbeat enough to get you going, yet calm enough to not get you worked up too soon.
2. “Telephone” – Lady Gaga
Song number two starts relatively slowly and gradually gets a lot more energetic. It’s a good way to move from your warm up to your workout.
3. “Legs” – ZZ Top
The beat of this song is pretty consistent throughout the entire thing. If you’re running, it’s a good way to maintain a steady pace (and maybe it’ll even get you motivated enough to work toward a great pair of legs yourself!).
4. “So So Fresh” – Nico Vega
This is one of my favorite songs. It’s on my exercise playlist because there is no way that I can stay still while listening to it. It’s a very upbeat rock song and really makes me move.
5. “Empire State of Mind” – Jay Z
I’m not a fan of Jay Z, but this song is good because it’s upbeat without being quiet as upbeat as the last one. It’s a bit of a recovery song where I can slow down a little bit, but still be moving.
6. “Versions of Violence” – Alanis Morissette
To put it simply, this song has the same effect on me as the Nico Vega song does. It’s got an almost… angry? feel to it that keeps pushing me to move a little faster. And if you’ve been reading the other articles in this series, you know I love Alanis.
7. “3″ – Britney Spears
Just like with number five on this list, I’m also not a Britney Spears fan. However, this song usually tires me out when I’m exercising to it, which is a pretty good thing.
8. “Rock that Body” – Black Eyed Peas
This is one of my favorite songs to exercise to, even though it’s not a favorite song of mine in general. The beat, the lyrics, and just about everything about it makes me want to be exercising. It gives me one last push before I start to wind down.
9. “She Wolf” – Shakira
This song is second to last because while it’s still an upbeat song, it’s not quite as intense as the others on this list. It’s a good song to start winding down to.
10. “Better Together” – Jack Johnson
Just like the first song on this playlist, this song is slower, which should help you cool down.

That sounds like an upbeat selection but maybe a bit too upbeat for this old pensioner to move to. I am sure many folk wwould find this list useful.
