Vote now for your number one song of all time.
Okay, every time there is a list or “top 10″ created about anything, people comment on what should have made the list, why the list was terrible because it didn’t feature this or that, and how the list could be improved. Now everybody is entitled to their own opinion of course but at times the debate can get a little heated and even personal to the point where insults are flown about and the topic of discussion is essentially forgotten.
Recently two articles were published featuring The Rock 1000 top rock songs of 2008 preview and the actual winners of the countdown and people commented on how this song should have been on the list and how this song shouldn’t have etc. So I have decided to try and remedy the differences in opinion by creating a survey for the number 1 song of all time as judged by you, the reader.
This means that you can choose your pick for the number 1 song of all time whether it be Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing in the Name”, Lupe Fiasco’s “Kick, Push” or Paris Hilton’s…I can’t recall the name of it, and not be offended when your choice of song is not on the list.

Here’s how to vote. All you are required to do is place the name and artist of your number 1 song of all time in the comments box below, type the security code and click submit. After 1 month from date of publication of this article, the results will be collated and analyzed to bring you once and for all, the number 1 song of all time.
To get the ball rolling I will cast the first vote and say that “Under The Bridge” from the Red Hot Chili Peppers off their 1991 album Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic is the number 1 song of all time.
For inspiration and or help in choosing your number 1 song of all time, you might like to read the above mentioned articles:

If I were to tell you what my favorite songs are, I’m sure they won’t even make it to the top 1,000 of all time (especially if being a crowd favorite is part of the criteria!) I’m more inclined to jazz and I have learned to accept that my choice of songs are way out of the music mainsream. I guess I’m that weird.
I’ll leave you two songs, though. Sorry RJ, it’s hard to pick just one song!
1) Look For The Silver Lining, by Chet Baker
2) Girl From Ipanema, by Astrud Gilberto?? (I’m not sure if he’s the one who originally sang it!)
Glynis Smy September 29th, 2008 at 12:30 am
Bridge over troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkle a solid classic
tengpaosho September 29th, 2008 at 1:12 am

“Hurt” by Nine Inch Nails
Allison West September 29th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
Hard to pick just one! I’m with Verniel, I really love jazz and things like ecstatic chant and Indian music (Deva Premal) so it’s hard to choose a rock song, I’m out of the mainstream.
Growing up I really loved Freddie Mercury, so I’ll say “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen!
JS September 29th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
“Zero-sum” by Nine Inch Nails
Ruby Hawk September 29th, 2008 at 9:06 pm

Great article. It makes me think. Although, I don’t think I have a number one. It all depends on my mood and how much I want my ears to bleed.
