A short narrative of my father’s journey following his dream.
Every soul has at least one passion in life. My father’s passion is music. He has played nearly every instrument over the years but the piano is his pride and joy. It all started when he was a tiny child playing his mothers piano. There is a famous family photo of him reaching up for the keys on a big white grand piano that sat in the living room of the house in North New Jersey where he grew up. What came to follow that photo is what shaped his life’s journey.
In high school my father took music seriously playing in the school marching band as well as other bands outside of school. Berkley College of music in Boston is where his music dreams took off after high school. Upon graduation my grandfather bought him a Steinway grand piano which he still has to this day. Since college my father has done nothing but music related projects to pay the bills. He has gone on tour with bands and singers, started his own record labels, made several albums himself, wrote show tunes for different shows, and much more. My greatest respect for him is that day in and day out he does what he loves and has no regrets. My dad is the definition of living the dream.

It is a very good journey, indeed, to be traveling life through the road of music. Thanks for sharing this.

One of my biggest regrets was not continuing to play the piano…then again, it’s never too late to pick it up again. Thanks for sharing!

If we could all do what we loved for a living, I think the world would be a better place. Great article!
