Music: White Lies – Ritual

White Lies’ new album, Ritual is in stores these days, and here is what I think of it.

What do I think of it? It’s really cool!

This English alternative rock band had great success with their last album, the debut To Lose My Life – and I am telling you: This album will most definitely not disappoint you. Harry McVeigh’s great vocals is carrying this album to up, up, up. His voice is like a mix of Ian Curtis from Joy Division and David Gahan from Depeche Mode.

Musically, this album, is quite uplifting actually, and danceble in a weird way. This is indie-pop that is catchy and awesome, but the album also has songs that makes you want to freak out and rock, especially the hit-single Bigger Than Us.

Ritual gives me a feeling that I am participating in something vital and important. It is a floating, hypnotizing and great feeling. And that is important, because really good music is meant to make you feel something. I feel empty, lonely and vulnerable when listening to this, and it is strange since the music is, like I said earlier, uplifting.

I really can’t say anything else about it – just buy it!
