Music to Make Your Mood

Music can set the mood, lighten the mood, and make your mood.

Music is as old as mankind.  It is an art that stands alone and almost every human being can enjoy.  Everyone has a favorite genre, artist or band.  Music is different in all cultures and unique to different regions of the globe.  It is basically a part of human nature at this point to create interesting audio that appeals to people.

Music changes throughout time to suit the needs of its listeners, from the royal waltz’s of European courts on the Danube to a Lil’ Wayne show bumping in New Orleans. Music evolves as fast as humans and maybe is even the catalyst for human evolution!  Music is unique because it can draw out a variety of emotions.  One song can remind us of a great time in our lives making us feel reminiscent and excited at the same time.  Listening to a specific artist can lead us to a memory of their concert and actually make us recall the event much better than we ever could in plain thought.  Hearing an old album can remind us of the person who showed us that music and make us wonder what they are up too now.

Music lets us purge our emotions and beyond that it lets us change.  It lets us change our mood by reminding us of better times or even the greatest of times.  We all have a song that reminds us of being a certain age and what we were into at that point in our lives.  You can hear a song come on the radio you haven’t heard in five years and your mood is lifted like you just got an enormous paycheck.  Think of the feeling you get when a favorite song comes on, its almost as though your soul is being lifted from your body.  When a favorite song comes on your mind is cleared of the stresses of the day and falls back onto the track that is making you bob your head.

New music is always coming out and finding a new style and/or artist always makes us feel special.  We imagine we have some sort of mental exclusivity with the new music and that anyone else who likes it is simply copying you!  The beautiful thing is that new music lets everyone feel this way.  We love listening to new music.  New music gives us new emotions and memories to make.  Most of us feel renewed and get a extra feeling of vigor when we find a new artist we love.

Think back to the first song you have ever had stuck in your head.  Easier said than done right.  Almost every day I have a new tune traipsing through my mind.  We cling to songs that describe the way we feel at the moment.  A upbeat track when we fall in love.  A emotional ballad during a break up.  A beat banger when we are at a party.  An old favorite on a long road trip.  Any song will do but we choose music by the combination of mood and location.   Sometimes we just cannot get enough of a song and replay it and replay it and replay it until we know every word and then it is really stuck in our heads!

Music is magic! Music is human and music makes us feel.  It is a universal art, culturally diverse and regionally dispersed.  I can feel music make me happy when I am sad.  I can feel music make me dance when I have been sitting on a couch.  Human nature would not be natural without a thumping bass line and beat to shake your feet!  I feel music, you feel music, we are all music.
