Are you one of those people who can’t stop but croon to the latest tunes? Welcome to the club. There are times when I can’t help but think that maybe I was a musician in my past life, or a musical instrument at the least.

This passion for music makes me search for the best places to listen to music. However, work prevents me from going to lounges or gigs. The next best thing is to go online. Here are some sites which could be of some hope to people who are just like me.

  1. Jango.com. Jango is a site that allows you to socialize with others of the same interests. However, its main product is to provide a stream of radio services and lets you customize your music playlist according to your preference. It also allows you to have choices like “play often” for songs that you like to listen to over and over again; “play sometimes” for songs that you find so-so; and “never play” for songs that you really do not have a fancy for. Sad thing is that fast forwards and rewinds are not allowed. Pop-up ads are also inevitable.
  2. Grooveshark. This site allows you to listen to music and download your preferred songs. You can also recommend the songs you really like. Similar to that of the social networking site, Twitter, one can also follow other users to facilitate easier sharing of playlists or songs.
  3. Yahoo Music. I have subscribed to their radio services a few years back and until now I love their services. They have a lot of genres available; my personal favorite was the Christian Contemporary and Christian Rock. Only, you cannot rewind or fast forward songs. Banner ads cannot be blocked too.
  4. Videokeman.com. This is my second top pick for sites to listen to music. The good thing about this site is you see the lyrics while the song is being played so you can actually sing along while your song is being played. Drawback is that not all songs are filed on this site.
  5. YouTube. Definitely a top-pick. Not only can I listen to songs, I get to see videos. It is also a very good venue to see other artists who have their own versions of the current songs. Mind you, some of them actually sound better than the original artist. You should try looking for such artists sometime. The problem is that sometimes, download time is too slow.

Whenever I listen to songs online, I spend less, and I get to do other things like work.  That is a win-win situation in my book.

Try listening to music online too. It is all worth it. And also you may need mac hard drive recovery or disk defragmenter
