The benefits of music and why people should be apart of it.
Most people hear music everyday. A good percentage of people can play and/or sing music. It plays a big part of our entertainment. But it provides many benefits as well. Studies have shown that music can stimulate brainwaves with upbeat tempos bringing a more efficient thinking process, and a slower tempo will relax and provide a calm state. Other research has shown that children involved with music achieve higher scores academically. I am interested in writing music and have found that music theory helps a person create music. In my study of music theory I have found some parallels between music theory and math.
There are those who find music inspiring. Listening to music while working or thinking can help relax you. Music also plays a big part in religion. For centuries many cultures have used song and dance in ceremonies and rituals. Its used in modern churches for worship, and for mediating.
I recommend learning how to read music and then pursing an instrument. It is tons of fun and is healthy in many ways. The study of music develops skills that are helpful in the workplace. It focuses on doing rather than observing. Employers are looking for talented workers with the sort of flexible and supple intellects that music education helps to create. So pick up a music class in school or study it online and pick up an instrument!
