Letter From a Music Addict

I Love Music, and have advice for all up and comers.

I am sure we have all heard horror stories of musicians and their mad debaucheries but I am here to say that all the “rock and roll lifestyle” insanity does nothing to impress me. In fact I personally would not pay to see a rock show where the musicians are not coherent.

I like music, and were I to pay to see a concert it better well be worth my hard earned wages or I can assure you that I’d never darken the doorstep of one of their concert venues again. I can be a pretty hard critic when need be but I am only hard on the musicians because I want them to be their best.

If you are trashed I know your music will suffer for it and I rather not see that occur.

I have seen many people go into music with dreams of glory only to burn out as quick as they arrived because they were too fool to keep themselves together. I have KNOWN drug addicts, I have KNOWN those that thought making an idiot of themselves would impress.

Trust me when I say it doesn’t.

Note I am not calling anyone an idiot, I am saying some musicians BEHAVIOR can be downright idiotic.

Keep your head on straight and don’t WASTE your talent, and you’ll get no complaints from me.
