This is the article where I will post links to good pages, tips, videos and help to learn the Hardstyle-Melbourne shuffle.
This is a very good video to help beginners. Try as much as you can and learn as much as you can in the beginning:
This video is from WeDanceHard.com. An extremely good organisation which shuffles and tries to learn other people the dance. I myself bought their DVD which can be found at this link: www.WeDanceHard.com
You can watch the free “basics tutorial” here:
Also, I found this great video explaining how to move your feet in 45 degrees. (watch for yourself) This is the V-Shape/T-Shape. This video is very detailed so i highly recommend you to watch it if you wish to learn The Melbourne Shuffle:
That was everything from here.. Hope you enjoyed it, and remember: It should, as everything, be fun. So don’t get stressed or angry because you can’t do the steps right the first time. Just practise !
Good luck from here =)

Xd I can do the running man very well but I can’t do the shuffle.=(
The running man seems to be easier. But Thanks for the videos they were helpful in some ways
A W H July 14th, 2009 at 7:06 pm
This is just a few helping videos. I hope you’ll learn it some day
In the beginning i think the running man is a little weird and difficult to learn but yea.. The shuffle is difficult.

Been doing this for about 3 days now, got the running man down pretty good, shuffle is questionable. I have been able to move around a bit to the beats and get in some kicks/spins. I’m sure it comes with time, but damn I’m sore and I have to do a lot of labor with my job, so it’s killing me, ha ha.
Should I just practice each thing until it’s just set in my mind and then move on to the next and once it’s all down start mixing, or just try to combine everything now like I am?

A W H October 11th, 2009 at 12:01 am
Oh that’s good to hear!
I know you feel you’ve got hold of something already but believe me.. in 1 month you’ll think, damn I can do it 100 times better now. Practice practice practice
Remember.. When it hurts you’re doing it right. Just remember to heal for some time before you keep going on with the shuffling.
I think you should try and mix it yourself. Creating your own style is the best you can do. It’s cool to do like other people, but if you can make your own style, you’ll get famous.
of course you should learn the different parts but mix it your own way!
Happy shuffling!!

Asher February 19th, 2010 at 11:56 pm
Hey thanks man these videos were extremely helpful. I just started 2 days ago and I can do basic side to side melbourne shuffle and I can do the running man. I have a question though. How do you get it smooth on surfaces like tenis courts. Whenever I try with shoes on they stick to the pavement.
A W H February 21st, 2010 at 9:34 am
Nice to hear that Asher! It’s all about practice. You will find it hard in the beginning (on different surfaces) but you’ll figure it out. There’s really no trick. I’m sorry. Hope you’ll master it soon!
Mr.Keeper March 9th, 2010 at 1:33 am
Just a question, how often do u guys practice and for how long……
A W H March 9th, 2010 at 3:39 pm
I don’t practice so much anymore. Only at parties and when I’m together with my friends. OR if there’s a really go song at home, and I’m alone. When I practiced this dance, I just practiced when I was home, and almost every time i was moving around at homee buddy

A W H March 19th, 2010 at 10:29 am
Hey great! I found it hard too, in the beginning. I’m no pro, but I’ve got much better than from when I started and it’s really funny too!
Practice all the time friend. By the way, If you want to see my second article on Hardstyle Shuffle, check this out:

Robert March 25th, 2010 at 10:25 pm
Hey, These vids are pretty helpful i believe and thanks for the article…
Anyways, what type of shoes should i buy for shuffling? the ones i currently have waaaaaaay too much traction and its impossible to shuffle with them.. i can shuffle with my socks on, but i’d like to do it outside as well ^^.. so do you suggest like converse “high tops”/chuck taylors or whatever or like some sort of puma shoe? like puma drift cat was suggested to me.. but idk.. Also my foot is like dead from so much shuffling haha, but anyways i am getting better and better each day i think ^^.. any suggestions? how long do you think it’ll take? and do you think because i am slightly overweight it’ll be much harder or even impossible to be really good? i mean i’m not fat, but i could lose a few pounds and dont have so much stamina :0
anyways though, any random suggestions?
I’ll come back with updates.
-Robert
A W H March 27th, 2010 at 8:14 am
Hey great to hear! Hope you’re getting better..
You should use shoes which are easy to slide around in!
Old shoes probably
Sorry I’m a bit short on time, I’ll write more later friend.
It takes long time but the process is funny
Robert March 27th, 2010 at 12:10 pm
hey what about “Puma drift cat” shoes?
http://images.buzzillions.com/images_products/06/30/mens_puma_drift_cat_reviews_357336_300.jpg
like this… do you think they’d be good for shuffling in? my current shoes are impossible because they have so much traction and whatnot.. i think im going to go buy these today.. Also do you think its bad to practice shuffling on hard wood floors with socks? will this make it harder later or what? i think im just going to start practicing with my shoes on concrete and stuff soon.
thanks.
A W H March 27th, 2010 at 12:48 pm
I think those shoes are great. And I also think they’ll just get better and better as they’ll get used and more flat. I use normal sneakers, but I’m not thaaaat good. Try looking at what kind of shoes these guys from the videos are wearing
Anyway, nice shoes.
By the way, I think you should do what’s easiest. Just practice with socks and hard wood floor cause you’ll still have to learn the moves. It will be a little hard to do it with shoes, but It’s always hard to learn it with shoes
Good luck!

Crystal Rivera March 27th, 2010 at 9:20 pm
Hey, nice vids, i practice but i can’t seem to get it right, and also its hard when i have my bf making fun of me, lol, is this the easiest way or is ther something more simpler then these videos??
A W H March 28th, 2010 at 9:30 am
Nothing is easy in the beginning..
Keep practicing.. Maybe on your own so that you can give yourself fully..I think the easiest way it to learn it from a friend and then practice on your own.. But the second easiest might be this way
Crystal Rivera March 29th, 2010 at 3:38 pm
None of my friend know it. But ill keep practicing.
Thank you
A W H March 31st, 2010 at 8:15 am
Good luck my friend

i’m also from DK and realy want some advise if we maybe could talk on skype or something realy want to learn it
A W H April 20th, 2010 at 8:52 am
Hey Emil!
Mvh.

Jonathan May 12th, 2010 at 10:42 pm
I have a question about the music, what is the best kind of music to shuffle to? I’m attempting to learn on my own time and these videos are an excellent help.
A W H May 13th, 2010 at 9:11 am
The best music is “unfortunately” hardstyle music or jumpstyle music. But not all people like these beats and sounds, so here’s my tip: Try and listen to the beats in these videos and try and see if some of your favorite music is almost or exactly the same. It doesn’t matter very much. But you might want to do it to a bit slower music than this, if you’re a beginner
Jonathan May 13th, 2010 at 2:53 pm
alrighty, thanks
A W H May 16th, 2010 at 2:36 pm
No problem Jonathan.
Samantha May 18th, 2010 at 12:21 pm
I’ve just started learning… and I’m not too great…
How long does it take to learn? None of my friends can really do it… but I’m trying!
Btw… Ur really good
A W H May 18th, 2010 at 5:17 pm
Hey everything is hard in the beginning. but remember that it’s got to be fun too! Do it for yourself in the beginning and then maybe at parties or with friends if possible

I guess it is very different from person to person.
It might take some months to get the feeling right about it but it’s worth it. I do it all the time, cause its’ fun and you feel a bit cool when you do it…
But I don’t know how long it takes to be pro
Thank you for the comment Samantha!
Best regards,
A W H
