Who is Lady Gaga? Why does she wear meat?!
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, more commonly known as Lady Gaga, was born on March 28th in 1986. She started a band called the Stefani Germanotta Band (SGBand). Eventually, the band progressed to preform at the 2006 Song Writers of Fame competition. A talent scout recruited her for Rob Fusari who was looking for a lead singer to front a new band. Stefani left SGBand. Later, she adopted the stage name “Lady Gaga” after Fusari played her the Queen song Radio Ga-ga as her opening song whenever she came into the studio.
Even while Lady Gaga was in Roman Catholic school, she stood out. People made fun of her because she was so eccentric. Of course, today, she goes above and beyond the word “eccentric” with her closet. Today her style is pure confidence, self-expression, and fun. Fashion is everything to her so of course she trusts none other than herself to design her crazy outfits. Most of them are made by Alexander McQueen. Though, Frank Fernandez designed the all to famous meat dress. Why meat? Gaga was escorted to the Nokia Theatre by members of the U.S. military who had been released due to the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy. Gaga was upset that some of her gay fans have oppression from the government so she put on the meat dress. It represents the statement, “If we don’t stand up for what we believe in, we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re gonna have about as much rights as the meat on our bones.” Though this reasonable explaination was given, many such as PETA and Ellen DeGeneres oppose.
Lady Gaga has won several awards for her music. In just 2010, she won nearly thirty awards and was nominated for twentyfour! Through out her career, she has won in total 110 awards and 249 nominations. Each time, Gaga thanks her “Little Monsters”. Her Little Monsters are what Lady Gaga fans are called because of her album The Fame Monster. There are a lot of Monsters out there. So many, in fact, that Lady Gaga is now the most followed person on Twitter- ahead of President Obama and Justin Beiber. Are you yourself a Monster?
