Kanye West: 808’s and Heartbreak

Yesterday I bought Kanye West’s new album, “808’s and Heartbreak”. Mr. West has hit it home once more.

Yesterday I bought Kanye West’s newest addition to his growing list of albums. Titled “808’s and Heartbreak”, the new album is certainly a success. Including the very popular early-released “Love Lockdown”, the album has twelve songs. It features many artists, including Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne, which I didn’t like very much. The flow of each song was absolutely perfect as usual, but I wasn’t sure about the message of a couple of songs. I feel like Mr. West is starting to lose interest in the “real” things, and rap about the things everybody else raps about, like money, boats, hoes, and cars.

In my eyes, the album is an overall success. Although in my opinion it doesn’t beat Kanye’s “Late Registration” album it was still more than worth the money.

I’m very interested in your comment about “real things”
Does not a rapper just talking about the “real things” just marginalise the artiste?
Kanye sings a lot on this album, what are your views on this departure?
Do you think the singing context take away the elements of “keeping it real”?
In the context of how Kanye works on albums would you say he was a pop artiste also?
