They are back! Classic rock band Journey with new power voice Arnel Pineda is touring five cities of the United Kingdom in June next year. And for the first time in the history of rock music concerts, they will be joined by Foreigner and Styx bands. The historic joining of forces is going to be the must-see event in the summer of 2011. It will be an evening of classic rock music at its best.
Journey with their latest album “Revelation” has earned their 11th Platinum honors. The album with new lead singer Arnel Pineda introduced 11 new songs featuring the new hit “After All This Years.” Arnel also re-recorded 11 of the band’s all-time hits and injected a fresh feel of their classics. They toured the world in support of “Revelation” in sold out concerts and were invited to guest in some of the world’s top-rated TV shows like Oprah and Ellen Degeneres.
The 3 band’s first stop will be in London, June 4 at the Wembley Arena. June 5 will in Birmingham at the LG Arena, June 7 in Newcastle at the Metro Arena, June 8 in Manchester at the Evening News Arena and June 9 in Glasgow at the SECC.
Journey with Neal Schon (lead guitars), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass), Deen Castronovo (drums) and Arnel Pineda (lead vocals) recorded another new album for release early 2011. Schon had indicated that this new recordings will be more of a rocking music.
Filipino Arnel Pineda was a revelation when the band performed in two of the world’s rock capital last year – at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium and at the Download Festival in Donington Park, England. With the heavy metal bands performing with them at the two rock fests, Journey with Arnel Pineda performed very well. The new lead singer’s revealing performances must have influenced the band’s new 2011 rock album.
The band will be joined by Foreigner with their hit “I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Waiting for a Girl like You.” Foreigner is now composed of Mick Jones, Kelly Hansen, Jeff Pilson, Tom Gimbel and Michael Bluestein.
Styx who has sold over 30 million albums worldwide is also joining the tour. The historic joining of forces of these powerhouse rock bands makes it a must-see music event in 2011.
The tour will be sponsored by the brand new magazine Classic Rock Presents AOR. Tickets for the UK Tour went on sale last November 12. The must-see event promises to be an evening of great classic rock music.
