The new artist, Jason Derulo, is sweeping the world with his soothing voice and great songs. His CD was released March 2nd and this is a review on his first CD "Jason Derulo"

In his first album Jason Derulo released nine songs all of which has to deal with a girl or something along those lines of love and sex. Throughout the album most of his songs appear to sound the same but each does have distinct lyrics each with their own meaning.

Whatcha Say

This was his first single released back in 2009. This became an instant hit and it seemed as if everyone knew this song. Now this song has a great meaning to it however it is very repetitive. Still this is one of my favorite songs on this album.

Rating: 3.5 out of 4 stars

Ridin’ Solo

This was a song that was very pleasing to hear. Derulo’s voice really shines through on this song and this song talks of him going out without his girl to pick up more girls and just have a good time.

Rating: 3.5 out of 4 stars

In My Head

This was his second single released before the album and this like “Whatcha Say” became a huge hit and it made people want to buy his CD. This song talks of fascinations that Derulo has for a girl he sees. The music video is very steamy and adds more to the song. This is the best song on the album

Rating: 4 out of 4 stars

The Sky’s the Limit

At this point in the album the songs start sounding a lot like Disney. This song is just saying how you should never give up with anything (in his case, yes, a girl) Derulo talks of how him and his girl have so much in common and anything is possible. This song has the most meaning to me. But it is too slow in my taste.

Rating: 2.5 out of 4 stars

What If

Again, another girl song. This time Derulo has just gotten with a girl and he is thinking about what could happen if they got married years down the road.

Rating: 2.5 out of 4 stars

Love Hangover

This may be the most interesting song in the whole album. He notices a girl at a bar and they get things started real fast and they have a one night stand and this is a repeated thing, and he claims to be hungover with love because everything is happening so fast.

Rating: 3 out of 4 stars

Encore

Well plain and simple Derulo had a one night stand with a girl and he wants to it again. Derulo’s voice really shines through on this.

Rating 3.5 out of 4 stars

Fallen

He is falling for a girl and he wants that girl to know that she is only girl. This truly is a powerful song one that could be considered “our song” in relationships.

Rating: 2.5 out of 4 stars

Blind

Derulo is with a girl and he becomes oblivious to what she is doing to him and it is very saddening because he does not get out of the relationship even though it is falling apart. This was probably the best song to put at the end of this album

Rating: 3 out of 4 stars

CD score: 28 out of 36 stars

Kudos goes out to Jason Derulo for making a great debut album. This definitely is an album worth buying.
