This article is about the procedures that one should & need to follow to sing properly withought damaging his/her voice. especially the beginners or amateur people sings in a manner that in turn causes damage to the vocal chord. so one must follow the way how to sing effectively with mininmum stress.
Of the most recent news, the heart breaking one is that adele is suffering from throat nodule as a result of improper singing technique. Every one eager to know whether it is true or not. However the fact is true that improper singing technique can damage one’s voice in such a way that he/she can lose the ability of singing for life time. Here are some of the steps for good voice training that you can follow lessen the stress. These are as follows,-
1. First of all you need to know what is the correct pitch for you to sing . If you’re an adult girl , then it’s higher than that of the children , & lower than that of the adult male. Noticeably one can face problems regarding the pitch during the pubertal life , as the vocal chord’s growth and deepening occurs at this time.But mostly the boys suffer from it. If you’re a girl , you have not to worry so much.
2. Then you should practice only the notes [ do , re , mi, fa, sol, la , si] in ascending & descending manner so that your voice is set at these basic notes & there after you will be easily able to sing any composition without help of any instrument.
3. you should not eat too cold or too hot foods suddenly , as it exposes the fine nerves and muscels of the vocal chord to stress & tear.
4. Don’t speak loudly when you’re just talking about some thing to your friends or someone else . you should practice in both the lower, middle & uppper pitches . but don’t do over practice. Begin from the lower pitches, then the middle pitch, & then at the upper one.
5. you should eat the green vegetables, and eggs, meat in a balanced way so that you may not suffer from constipation or any abdominal distress.
6. Just play your voice by controlling the breathe through your vocal chord after a full inspiration .now you can enjoy the charm to sing. you fill no stress in your voice.it’s the time when you can approach each & every notes very easily without any stress.
7. Don’t over deepen your voice at the lower pitches that will hinder the homogeniousity of your voice.
8. Don’y be over emotional as that will creat stress automatically. Try to regenerate the emotions in the song.
9. If you still feel so, please begin your practice doung alaap[staying at the notes for longer time] & say om with help of chord in your synthesizer or tanpura[indian instrument] at least for 30 minutea eac day at the morning in fresh environment.
10. Lastly breathe holding is very very important. Take full inpiration, hold it for as long as you can and try to enhance the holding the breathe for longer period of time & then expire the air very slowly. It’s one of the pranayama process used in the earlier times by the vocalists in the hindustani classical music.That will really make your voice very smooth.
