The Marsalis Family New Album!

It’s the musicianscorner. This Tuesday August 24 was a great day for jazz. It was the release of Music Redeems by The Marsalis family. It has been two years since the whole family released an album. The Jazz Celebration was excellent, and the song Cain and Abel went to number for you serious jazz musicians.

Ellis Marsalis is one of the best piano players in the business. He is in is late seventies now, but he is still releasing albums early. This new music redeems album was actually recorded last at Duke Ellington’s Jazz Fest because the boys are always doing their own gigs and tours.

Get Music Redeems. It is a fantastic album. You will have an hour and a half of wonderful playing. Jason plays the vibes with is dad on Monkey Puzzle. It is a lengthy song. Great harmony all the way through.  You can hear Wyton and Bradford throughout they got a song that is speak in case you do not want to buy the whole album. It is fine and a nice tribute to Ellis. There just is not much substance to it. Ellis did the song After which he composed. It is one of his best in years! This album will not put you to sleep. In fact, they saved the best for last. 2nd line is Wyton, Bradford, and Delfeayo on the trombone at its best. That brass is smoking and shinning. You will want to dance, and you will think that you are on Bourbon Street in the heart of New Orleans.

Please buy this CD because all of the proceeds including downloads go to the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in New Orleans. Construction is well under way for the center. It will have a concert hall and classrooms. It will have pictures and performance by the family when completed in 2011. It is also going to have a day care for musicians you cannot find childcare.

No one deserves this building more than Ellis for teaching in the community. Harry Connick Jr. performed a duel with him on Sweet Georgia Brown; it turned out better than expected. The musician’svillage surrounding the new center has 70 houses built already just after five years since hurricane Katrina wiped them out. These are not as nice as Brad Pitt’s 9th ward homes. They are decent. New Orleans was poor and a dump to start, so this is a nice revitalization that mat impress on people more than before the storm surge. Today 80 percent of the local musicians are back. This includes David French who is a local jazz drummer. He can play in a trio or band. Buy Music Redeems. You will definitely get a treat while helping someone else. That is rare in the music industry today. Hurray for the Marsalis Family!. They are truly gifted leader in music and the community. Here that trumpet sound. It is dancing with happiness. Goodness is returned even if we cannot see it all the time.
