Nothing more, nothing less. Five songs that will make you feel good. Or at least they will if you like them, or something like that.
Move Any Mountain – The Shamen
This was the fourth song the Shamen released in the UK, way back in the summer of 1991. It was the first of their singles to penetrate the top 10. It peaked at number 4. All together now: “I can move, move, move any mountain.
LSI – The Shamen
Love, Sex and Intelligence, coming through like a seventh sense indeed. This one was the follow up single to ‘Move Any Mountain’ and reached a peak of number 6 in the UK charts when released in the summer of 1992.
Ebeneezer Goode – The Shamen
This is probably the most remembered song by the Shamen for two reasons. Firstly it was their only number 1 hit in the UK, hitting the top spot in September 1992, secondly because it was banned from a lot of radio stations for its obvious drug references; E’s are good, e’s are good, it’s Ebeneezer Goode!
Phorever People – The Shamen
This was the last song the Shamen released that ever reached the top 10 in the UK charts. It peaked at number 5 in December 1992. Although they released a few more singles throughout the following four years they just couldn’t repeat their earlier success.
Destination Eschaton – The Shamen
It had been nearly two years since the Shamen had last released any singles in the UK when this song crashed into the charts, reaching a peak of number 15 in August 1995. One word about this song? Tuuuunnneee.
