Five songs just for you. Nothing more, nothing less.
The Seahorses – You Can Talk To Me
How best to describe the Seahorses? How about, wannabe Britpop supergroup who came slightly too late to the party and dissapeared too quickly. Their debut album spawned 3 hits and this song here was meant to be the ‘teaser’ for their next album. It was their last chart hit, hitting number 15 in the UK charts in late 1997.
Charlatans – Just When You’re Thinking Things Over
Another quality band who were oft put in with the ‘Britpop’ scene. The Charlatans, however had been banging out the hits since way back in 1990 – years before Oasis ever showed up. This song marked somewhat of a comeback for the band as it became the first top 20 the band had since March 1992 when it peaked at number 12 in the UK charts in August 1995.
Oasis – Live Forever
The third single release by, arguably, the biggest band of the 1990’s (and beyond). Live Forever also marked the first time that Oasis broke into the top 10 in the UK chart. It peaked at number 10 in the Autumn of 1994. A feelgood hit that still sounds fresh to this very day.
Travis – Writing To Reach You
Scottish band Travis had been releasing single since 1997 but not to too much success. It all changed in 1999 when, all of a sudden, they racked up an impressive run of top 20 hits. This song was the one that kicked of their breakthrough when it reached number 14 in the UK charts in March 1999.
Traveling Wilburys – Handle Me With Care
Really it shouldn’t have worked, yet it did, for a time at least. The Traveling Wilburys a supergroup that were actually ’super’. Their collective career was short-lived mind you but still, when you can make music like this?

my “system” is too old I guess to hear the whole thing, still what I got out of it is: some words should not be put to music at all, some words would be best with a different genre other than originally used.
I wish my system were updated enough to listen to them fully. I liked what I heard of the first one and the last one;however, if I had been able to listen to the whole songs, I might have liked the other two more.
some songs start out well and the middle is lacking while others start out not so hot, and by the middle makes up for it.
thanks for sharing.
