I am not the biggest Michael Jackson fan ever but as a person who loves a good, catchy tune combined with cool electric guitar riffs, I am addicted to these 5 Michael Jackson songs. And the videos rock too. Enjoy.
*Beat it
Great video, great song. Michael Jackson is not just the king of pop (for some instances, I’ll even say pop-rock. Just listen to the tunes and remember his duet with Guns ‘N Roses former guitarist Slash for another song) , but also the king of videos. His videos include great dancing routines- that remind us of well-rehearsed scenes in musicals, a story and expensive production. They don’t always have to give a message but they sure as hell make you want to kick-start your dance moves.
*They don’t really care about us
Michael’s songs conveyed much more sincere political messages than your ordinary pop star. But then again, nothing about this guy was ordinary. He once went to an awards show with pop icon Madonna. Not because they were really dating but because he knew it would drive the paparazzi crazy. He was right. The men knew some things about marketing.
*Black or White
Another crucial message for society. Michael might have died but his songs and their meanings will carry on. However despite the message, this is one of the most songs ever. And the video comes with the young Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone, Richie Rich). He is also the godfather of Jackson’s first child.
*Bad
This song just rocks! There is no better way to put it.
*Thriller
This video is one quality, short, horror-comedy film. The make-up is just amazing. Yes, shooting cost a lot but it was worth it. Don’t you think?
Now Smooth Criminal is a good song, but I am more addictive to it is cover. You can watch the video and read about it here.

Loved this post and love MJ.
“Beat it” is a personal favorite but then every song mentioned in this article is addictive and better than the other. RIP MJ.

Beat it and Billy Gene (not sure if thats the spelling?? Jean??)
I used to listen to them when I was getting ready to go out in my young teens. Now my young boys love his old songs too. I am not so keen on the newer stuff and I think he was a very sad, disturbed man.

he was disturbed. I think he was also very smart. Too bad he didn’t use that IQ of his when it came to his health issues. Still, great tunes.

You picked a good group. He was a strange and sad man but he could sang. His death was so sad and uncalled for.

@ starpisces: Yeah, he looked much better when he was black. but I had always thought that he chose to try and be white. but a huge fan of his explained to me that he had a disease that made his skin go white. But all the nose jobs were his madness.
@ CA Johnson: He was a great dancer and a singer/song writer- I will give you that. He found amazing riffs and has my tremendous respect in that sense. But I never understood his fixation on the white socks:D

@anjalone: thanks. I enjoyed writing it.
@ PR Mace: He so sure could sing and write songs. May he R.I.P.

MJ will always be remembered as the best performer/artist. His songwriting ability was always overlooked though. I love the song Man in the Mirror since MJ talks about his personal struggles. It’s sad that fame and vanity got to hm.

I didn’t know about than song, Sharif. I better check it out.
And yes, fame and vanity aren’t some things that he should have let take over.

Some good picks there. There’ll definitely never be another one like Michael Jackson.
