The best bands you’ve never heard of.

The Bravery

The Bravery was featured on the Eclipse soundtrack, so Twilight fans may already know about them. But for the lesser fans of sparkly vampires, this band is still well worth giving a listen. With a blend of catchy beats, sunny lyrics, and a guitarist named Moose, this band is bound to become a quick favorite.

Mumford and Sons

Mumford and Sons made it big last year with their single “Little Lion Man” and is gaining more popularity with “The Cave,” but many people have still not heard of them. They can best be described as alternative rock with a happy little banjo. Their latest album, “Sigh No More,” is available on iTunes.

Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros

This band’s tracks have been featured in an NFL commercial, the trailer for the film “Cyrus,” and in an episode of “Ugly Betty.” With word plays and whistles, their music is a refreshing new sound.

Son of a Bad Man

Lead singer Shawn Fisher studied political science at the University of North Florida, but his real passion is his music. They first hit the scene as Shawn Fisher and the Jukebox Gypsies, but changed their name to Son of a Bad Man last year when they started producing their EP. They cleaned up their scruff and their sound to produce some great songs with incredible lyrics. They recently released the video for their single “Open Your Eyes” on youtube and they are in the process of making a new album. Everyone who donates $20 or more to their fund on kickstarter.com will receive a signed hard copy of the finished product.

Japandroids

With a grainy sound and nonsensical lyrics, this band doesn’t seem like the type to rise to the top. But after listening to their single “Wet Hair,” anyone will be hooked. It’s just so crazy and dancey that it makes you fall in love with their silliness.
