End of The World Theme Song

To what, will you be dancing to, when fire rains from the heavens?

When the Apocalypse finally arrives and the Day of Reckoning dawns, when Armageddon strikes and the world is rife with havoc and destruction, what song will you hear playing in the background? Tinie Tempah, Justin Bieber, a bit of Bruno Mars? I think not. (Just note, I am not referring to May 21st’s Rapture false alarm, upon which you may have heard such artists on the radio)
No, it will be Led Zeppelin, it will be Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath. Those, my poor, helpless victims of corporate monopolization, are the tracks. One can only hope that whilst men and women are running wild in the streets and fire rains from the sky, they’ll take a second to stop and appreciate true Music.

Yes, indeed, true music! Because, I can tell you now, that mainstream soulless rubbish you hear on the radio, in the charts, on the Internet is NOT Music and can never rightfully be considered Music. What is deemed “good music”, no, actually, “popular music” nowadays is overproduced, extreme-marketed, auto-tuned toss and it disgusts not only me, but every other enlightened individual lucky enough to realise how low the standards have dropped.
Genres like Rock and Metal produce quality music, good music. It takes skill, talent and passion to produce a Rock song, there’s no auto tuning involved, no precisely pinned marketing campaign, just the power of good music. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate every single “pop” track that comes out. For example, I’m quite a big fan of some of Kesha’s songs. At least artists like Kesha and Lady Gaga push the boat out a little bit, add individuality to their music and that’s what garners my respect.
Because of the top-cat corporate executives that rule the music industry with an iron fist, it is no longer possible to make money, making good music. It is a choice between the two. The overlords of music, and I’m not talking about the artists, nonono, there are people bigger than them, the artist’s bosses, the record label’s bosses, perhaps there’s a man that rules over every record label in the world, I have no clue but what I do know is there’s an executive league of evil kings and queens that have manipulated the minds of almost every child in the world into believing these simple, repetitive background tunes are what is considered good Music. These sadistic rulers have made it impossible to make a successful career in producing good Music. It’s now a choice; a very depressing choice. You can either make good music and live a non-exotic mediocre life, or you can make money producing non-exotic mediocre Music.
Sooo… in the end this is a rant. A rant. But also… an advertisement! A rant about how the world has been manipulated into believing chart music is the nuts and that complex genres such as Rock and Metal have been secluded. Take my advice people, listen to Rock Music, hell, listen to Jazz, Folk, Country, anything that pushes the boundaries of Music to new levels. Just stop with Pop, R&B, Indie, Mainstream crap.. etc. Abandon it. Drag it into the desert and leave it to die, for rabid vultures to pick at it’s remains till the end of time.
Grr.
