Echos From Macro Grizzly

I am a great music lover, but I am also a critical listener. However there are lots of bands out there that have great potential. With the ever popular X-Factor and American Idol it seems that musicians have it easier that ever. Nothing is further from the truth. Lets face it, the vocalists and or bands who are participating in these program belong to a certain category. And the winner is going to be a crowd pleas-er, how else can she or he make the record company and the manager millions of pounds or dollars? But don’t you worry this article has nothing to do with the X-Factor or American Idol, they make good tags though.

Ireland is one of those places on earth where for some reason creative people find their way to the surface. Many artist from abroad have settled there. Of course also many artists who live on the Emerald Island are born and bred Irish men. I have to say men in the case of the alternative band Macro Grizzly, because they are all men, except for the occasional female vocalist who sings on one of their songs. What is so special about the Macro Grizzly’s ? In the first place they are doing their own thing and not out to make lots of money, they play music because they enjoy doing so. Front man Steve Ryan is a master in changing persona’s (with his voice) and also writes all the lyrics himself. On their website there are several different versions of songs and Macro Grizzly would like their fans to decide which one they like the most. When launching their first single in January 2010 the fans decide on the song version. Momentarily you can sign up to their site for free to listen and or download music. This will change in January when a small fee per year will be asked for a membership.  Saturday the 7th of November 2009 Macro Grizzly will play live online.
