"nothing sad or dissonant about this tune…"

Greetings, dear readers. Discogkahvi resumes after taking a break (more than a little Triond drama might have had something to do with it, we want our commentses, we do) but the show and the articles must go on! Today we’re covering the 044th release of Kahvi Collective (get it here) – the first such release featuring Skybax, a 2-song ep called shore story. This article reviews the second track, called “A Flowering Sea”:

The second verse in this ambient couplet begins with a soft drone – ebbing and flowing before percussion and some kind of synth lead (see, I played with General MIDI as a kid, too) enter. The feel is positive, nothing sad or dissonant about this tune. A pleasing breakdown into the second minute, sweet, rollicking synths floating in this Flowering Sea. The beat is back and gone again by minute three, waxing and waning once more before a brief fade closes the track and the EP.
