Country music is a kind of music that is popularized by artist that came from the US specifically the southern part of the States.
Country music was also known as hillbilly way back in the 20s and 30s and then became country or western in the 40s and 50s. Its origins are from folksongs and a combination of ballads that came from North America.
Country music spreads trough out its neighbors and Canada is one of the country that have been influenced with such kinds of music. Country music was first introduced to Canada’s airwaves by the United States Radio. This media became the tool in spreading country music throughout Canada. Many radio stations like WBAP, Fort Worth, WSM, Nashville and more made country music popular to Canadians. This was followed by Canada’s radio stations like CFRB’ Cornhuskers with George Wade and CFBO with Don Messer.
And we may say the rest was history, many country singers and artist have emerged from Canada and one of them is Tara Oram, she was a Canadian Country Music Award winner. At the age of 16 she released her first sing entitled; More than I dreamed, this was her first hit in the Canadian country music scene. Her first album released was on 2009 and in 2011 she released her sophomore album called Revival. This sited that country music still runs in Canada’s music genre.
With such success of country music in the world, many artist song writers will emerge from different countries. With the help of different kinds of medium like the internet, TV, radio and even prints country music will lives on. Country singers and songs that come from a country like Canada will still have the following of many fans and enthusiast and country music will still be alive and grow through the years.
