Music’s influence is limitlessly profound.

What is more influential in your opinion, music or the movies?
I’ve been pondering this lately, just as an interesting thought to think about. While we all have favorite movies and songs we listen to over and over, does one profoundly affect us more than anything else?
After thinking about this awhile, I do believe it is music. While people will stand in line for hours to watch movies and the Golden Globes are widely televised, music is a greater part of most people’s everyday life. Music is everywhere; from your car drive to work, your grocery store trips to even being a part of your wait time during a call to the cable company. More and more people are plugging into their ipods, mp3s, and radios to enjoy their favorite tunes while exercising or just relaxing during their days.
Step into most any restaurant and you are sure to hear some of your favorite tunes. Take a stroll along the beach and enjoy the many street performers that predictably line the walkways strumming guitars, agilely playing electric keyboards, spinning records and entertaining passing crowds. Music is a part of almost every single show and commercial you watch on TV. And, without a doubt, it is an essential part of every single movie you watch.
In addition, more than any other influential media, different genres of music affect popular fashion trends. Statistically, teenagers through people who are about 35 years old make up the greatest population of consumers and spenders. And with financial business intelligence the music industry caters lavishly to these people. Just check out the local mall stores, check out the styles that line the racks. Notice how, now more than ever more singers and musicians are creating their own lines of clothing, jewelry, perfume, recording companies and empires.
And, it cannot be denied how powerful music has been to the music created in other countries. In foreign music videos and fashion trends music is universally loved and felt by the heart of all those who listen.

It is clear to see that the limitlessly talented music celebrities are literally taking over the world one song at a time.
So, let’s keep it positive because in the end “All You Need is Love.” – John Lennon.
Blessings to all.

I think I agree it is music. I have cassets I bought years ago that I still listen to. As you get older I believe you still like the things you liked best when you were young. The new music I hear goes in one ear and out the other but I still like Rod Steward, Tina Turner, Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis among others. I don’t know what I will do when my cassets wear out.

music truly is a binding force in our lives. It’s amazing how hearing an old song can wisk you back in time and recreate the emotions present when you first heard it.

I would vote for music too. I cant imagine my life without music. I have a samsung music edition phone. My husband mockingly calls it my ‘music player’ and says he loves how it can make phone calls too, coz i use it more for listening to music than calling people!

Music can certainly bring out strong emotions and memories, which advertiser certainly use to their advantage when selling something. Like for example the Hovis advert, where the music can stir memories of your grandmother baking her own bread and make you think you can actually smell the ‘fresh’ bread and go buy it… advertisers job done.

I agree completely. Music brings out such emotion in us all. I rarely ever cry, but some songs are so beautiful, I find a tear in my eye. Having been in a rock/acoustic band, I was the lyricist and voaclist. Nothing brings out the emotion in you when you sing one of your own songs and people show their own emotions from your creativity.
