All my life I have been fascinated by music and lyrical works in the music industry.
I can remember nagging my mother constantly at the age of 8 to get me my own personal radio, night and day I would sit there listening to the radio and my mix tapes that I had spent the whole night before making. I don’t know exactly what it was about music, just that every time I listened to these people putting not only there heart but there entire person into these works of art. It gave me not only a sense that I wasn’t alone but filled my body and mind with such emotion, through all this I became a stronger person I believe; it was medicine for the soul.
These days there is so much to chose from when it comes to the music scene, so much so that you could probably state with all honesty there’s something for everyone. And with all the new shows and competitions to be apart of a created group internationally and nationally known, well it has become an easy industry to get into. While it being an easy industry to get into the work is none the harder I would imagine, but I still feel like there is something missing.
If we remember some Bands and artists earlier years like Gun’s “n” Roses, Metallica, TLC, Alanis Morissette, The Doors we remember a passion, a voice, heart. Now it has left us with the question where has the soul gone from the music?
While tragedy befell TLC with Lisa “left eye” Lopez’s passing, also for The Doors Jim Morrison. Alanis Morissette has struck back with a complete giving of self album, unfortunately still missing that rock sound I miss so much, I enjoyed the album so much I felt like I was15 years younger again. A lot of the other bands and artist’s have released music but I have to say I am just not feeling the love people. The business of music has become so crowded that even our old greats have turned for the same goal as all these new comers. The goal of money, years ago people created these masterpieces out of love and need to find themselves, but now its all about the big green. It isn’t enough that people just listen and love music anymore, With the new age of downloading music free it has infuriated so many artist, so much in fact that for example: Axel Rose has delayed the new album from coming out for months and months.
I’m left in a confusing position now, I relied for so long that the music in the world would always be created to share with everyone and now, well I am lost. I completely understand the problem with downloading music but if these artist stopped and realized one thing, even though people download there music free if they truly like the music they will buy it, why is it that weather people like there art or not just isn’t enough anymore. So I ask myself why?
I doubt my questions will ever truly answered and I will never stop listening to the music, but would it really be so bad to have some compassion for your creations.
