The First Ten Songs From My Ipod This Morning.
Like thousands of others across the country, I shook myself out of bed this morning for my first day back at work following the Christmas holidays.
Out came my trusty ipod, my friend and saviour who makes my journey to work that bit more bearable. After two weeks stuffed in my bag and left untouched, these are the first ten songs it delivered to me this cold and icy morning.
You Make Me Feel Brand New by Rod Stewart & Mary J Blige- A new take on an uplifting old classic, perfect to bring me back down to earth after a morning spent stressing due to being totally unprepared for the first day back, largely due to the fact that my self-promised early night failed to materialise owing to the addictive viewing that was the darts world final the night before!
It’s The Same Old Song by Rod Stewart- Another new take on an old Motown classic from Rod Stewart’s new Soulbook album, perfect happy sing-a-long music. (although not on the bus unless you don’t mind everyone staring!)
Easy by Boyz II Men- Boyz II Men rework this old classic, had to restrain myself from joining in with the ‘wooo, wooo’ bits!
You To Me Are Everything by The Real Thing- No particular relevance, just a song that for some reason everyone seems to know!
Lady Love Me by George Benson- Addictive ‘do, do, do’ bit towards the end, always reminds me of seeing him in concert.
Somebody To Love by Queen- Bit of power rock to warm you up on a cold morning like this morning when despite wearing my thickest pair of socks and my prized Ugg gloves, I can feel neither my hands nor my feet!
Million Dollar Bill by Whitney Houston- Slick new offering from Whitney, sing-a-long chorus and wave your hands in the air bit. I so want to join you Ms Houston!
I Need You by NDubz- Just to prove I’m still young despite the majority of these songs being old as the hills classics, although on listening to the lyrics I have no idea what ‘Bang, bang shoes’ are, will have to Google that one!
One Vision by Queen- Back to the old ones again and one of life’s mysteries, WHY does Freddie Mercury sing ‘Fried Chicken’ at the end of this song? Or have I been hearing it wrong all these years?!
Your Song by Elton John- Blissful, chillout song that always brings back memories of a fantastic family wedding a couple of years ago.
And there my ipod assisted journey to work endeth!
