Awards 2010: Cmt Music Awards

The CMT Music Awards were held on June 9th, 2010 on CMT. Kid Rock hosted the event this year.

The event started off with a rocking performance by Kid Rock himself.  He sang his older rock song called  ”Cowboy”. Other artists joined in on his performance as well, however there were too many to name.

Winner: Lady Antebellum with “Need You Now.”

Kelly Pickler and T.O. presented the Award for Duo Video Of The Year
Winner: Brooks and Dunn with “Indian Summer.”

Gloriana then introduced Chris Young performing his song, “Getting You Home.”  (Short Performance)

After the break, Hayden Panettiere introduce Miranda Lambert.  Miranda performed her hit, “White Liar.”

Then, The Zach Brown Band Presented the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video
Winner: Luke Bryan with, “Do I.”

Next, Carrie Underwood (in her bright pink dress) introduced Tim McGraw singing his song, “Southern Voice.”

As the show went to break, The Trailer Choir sang,”Shaking That Tailgate.”

Kid Rock then introduced the “surprise” performance by the Queen of Country REBA…..However first off a fake Reba was singing (Kenan Thompson). 
Together, they presented the Award for Collaborative Video Of The Year
Winner: Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins and their song, “Hillbilly Bone.”

After that interesting surprise, Lady Antebellum introduced Brad Paisley singing his song, “American Saturday Night.”

Next, David Spade and Kid introduced Jamey Johnson who sang a new song of his,”Back To Macon.” 

Paula Dean, “Snookie” and “The Situation” presented the Award for CMT Performance of The Year
Winner: Carrie Underwood with “Temporary Home.”

Laura Bell Bundy and Blake Shelton then introduced, “Swinging,” sung by Leann Rimes.  They introduced the song, only after Blake’s news of engagement to Miranda Lambert.

Next, after another commercial break….Jada Pinkett Smith introduced Toby Keith singing, “American Ride.”

Afterwards, Steel Magnolia (who won the second season of Can You Duet) sang their song, “Keep On Loving You.” (Short Performance)

After more commercial interruption, Luke Bryan and and Richard Petty introduced the Zac Brown Band singing their song, “Free.”

Winner: Keith Urban with “Til Summer Comes Around.”

Kara Diogaurdi then introduced Carrie Underwood singing, “Undo It.”

After the commercials, The talented Luke Wilson and LeAnn Rimes presented the
award for Female Video Of The Year
Winner: Miranda Lambert with her song, “White Liar.”

Next, Taylor Swift introduced Keith Urban and John Mayer’s duet of “Hit The Ground Runnin’.”

After the final break, Cheryl Crow (who did a duet with Kid Rock a few years back) got on stage with Kid to give the final award away.  The award they presented was the biggest and best award of the event.

To end the show, The one and only Lady A. (or Lady Antebellum) performed their new song, “Stars Tonight.”

Seems that Lady Antebellum’s performance was the perfect one to end the show, because their song says “We’re all stars tonight,” and all the nominees and winners are stars.
