Plus One Records releases a genius compilation hailing all the way from the Australian music scene. With this release a thriving energy of independent work has generated enough momentum to cross the sea on a journey to reach more ears. These tunes range from folk to alternative, blues to pop, and just heavy blue laden rock, wholly bound to impress any lending listener. Come bask in the bright hopes and dreams of the definitive music compilation of Australian independents: “The Australianacity of Hope.”

Tr. 1 – “10 Paces Away” – This epic masterpiece serves as the pinnacle piece from a long elaboration of work that the Gin Club has produced.  The song takes roots in a thematic exhibition of despair and the release and elation that comes from the everyday human experience of longing and let downs. With an interplay of many instruments in a neo big band blues format, listeners are left to bathe their ears in a reservoir of emotional depth and the clarity that comes at the end of most quintessentially epic tragedies.

Tr. 6 – “Destiny” – The sensibility of alternative musing combined with crunching rock, “Destiny” encapsulates a tight independent band that explodes onto any modern scene. Perfect transitions, phrasing, and frightful hooks. This haunting sound will add as a thrilling piece to any new zombie film. Great interludes and play with buildup energy. All around this sound waxes a youthful fervor that serves as a great foundation to limitless potential.

Tr. 14 – “Eating Through the Debauchery” – An expansive energy that progresses through the movements of life with the grace and mystique of many rock past-times. Their sound is defined with a sort of whimsical nonchalance, embodied by an escapade of vocals and a cutting edge grunge like sound that meets the high energy of big cities. Think J Mascis meets with the Flaming Lips and rock out together in some post 80’s warehouse party. This track hums a delightful mantra.

Tr. 15 – “Vincent Price” – A syringe of Pure Rock through the breast plate and straight to the heart of the matter. The Smokestack Orchestra unleashes a beast in the machine of a track, defining gritty rock delivered in a tight package. Hard driving and driving hard, this song will bang any head into pure submission.
