Amazing Modern Hip Hop Songs Part Ii

There are some lesser known artists that do deserve some recognition.

As we know, modern Hip Hop evolved from the old Gospel melodies that arrived in the US of A from the African continent and spread as a technique of distributing not only religious messages and to build up enthusiasm or hope for work or freedom but it became also used for transmitting messages of a current kind – like news or a discussion of opinions. So, here are some few examples of amazing music that has not yet been recognized to the full amount.

Chilly Gonzales – Never Stop

This song was actually even used by Apple Inc. in a commercial for the iPod touch in Europe in a slightly customized version without lyrics but has never really made it into the charts. Although a bit more into the pop direction, this still is a cool hip hop or rap song that I think you probably like.

Freddie Gibbs – The Ghetto

Singing about naivity and his school career in a more or less abandoned or hopeless district of a city in tough economic times. Pretty close to what we are seeing today in some parts of metropolis’.

Rey Resurreccion – Trainwreck

Although his name is a bit tough to write, which I hope I got right, this song is a clear masterpiece in terms of hip hop as the rhythm is simple and the text is creative and sticks in your brain – in mine at least.

Nappy Roots – Ride

I saw this video personally once on MTVU but it was not featured anywhere else which I think should happen as this song is quite cool – a nice traveler song with equally cool lyrics.

Thanks for checking out these few artists and I hope you enjoyed it.
