Here we will take a look at 10 songs that have something to do with breakfast in their title. Perhaps you have will have heard of some of these, perhaps not. Hope you enjoy either way.

Breakfast At Tiffany’s
by
Deep Blue Something

This song appeared on the Deep Blue Something album ‘Home’, released in 1996. The song peaked at number 5 in the US charts but raced to the number 1 spot in the UK. The success wasn’t to last for the band and they never reached such dizzying heights again

Banana Pancakes
by
Jack Johnson

Jack Johnson is an American songwriter who also loves to surf; kind of like a one man Beach Boys or something. This song appeared on his third album, called ‘In Between Dreams’. The song was originally written by Indian writer/singer Alanna Palladino.

Nice Girls Don’t Stay For Breakfast
by
Julie London

Julie London, or Gayle Peck as she was otherwise known, was an American singer and actress who sadly passed away in the year 2000. This song was never released as a single.

Good Morning, Good Morning
by
The Beatles

This song appeared on the Beatles album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, released in 1967. It is said that John Lennon (the main song-writer) got his inspiration from an advert on the TV for Kellog’s Cornflakes.

Breakfast in Bed
by
UB40 featuring Chrissie Hynde

This song was released by UB40 in 1988 and featured Chrissie Hynde who was the lead singer of the Pretenders. It reached number 6 in the UK which wasn’t as high as their previous collaboration with Hynde, the 1985 number 1 cover of ‘I Got You Babe’.

Milk and Cereal
by
G.Love and Special Sauce

This alternative hip-hop band composed this song but it is as an internet ‘phenomenon’ that the song is best known. It all started when two students lip synced to the original and posted it on YouTube, before long others were doing it also. Hilarity ensued – obviously!

Black Coffee In Bed
by
Squeeze

This song was the longest song that Squeeze ever released as a single, coming in at over 6 minutes. It appeared on their fifth album called ‘Sweets From A Stranger’. Interestingly the backing vocals were provided by Elvis Costello and Paul Young.

Breakfast in America
by
Supertramp

This song from 1979 appeared on the album of the same name by Supertramp. It only reached number 62 in the US charts but hit the top 10 in the UK, peaking at number 9. In 2007 ‘Gym Class Heroes’ sampled heavily from this song for a song called ‘Cupid’s Chokehold’.

Every Morning
by
Sugar Ray

Any excuse to put this song in. This song is arguably the most famous song that Sugar Ray ever recorded. It came from their third album and was a relatively large hit around the world. It did reach number one on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart!

The Breakfast Song
by
Newsboys

The Newsboys are a Christian Rock band who have actually been nominated for a grammy (not for this song though). Is it really any surprise that this song wasn’t a hit?
