How john lennon helped change peoples thinking.
Love him or hate him john Lennon was the most prolific and deep songwriter we are likely to ever see.i listened to my first Beatles record at the tender age of 14.many days and nights spent playing on my makeshift guitar(a brush shank)miming contently to song after song.i would buy my first guitar on the condition i learnt eight days a week. Many bloody fingers later i had learnt the 3 chords.two months later the guitar was sold so i could attend a party.john Lennon’s songs had a big effect on me.songs like mother and imagine captured my imagination. The pain and anger spilled out without mercy in a majority of his songs. The pain of losing his mother to a drunken driver.the father who walked out on him.The loss of his best friend. This forced him to grow up quickly.songs that made me want to write include…GOD-god is a concept by which we measure our pain.WOMAN IS THE NIGGER OF THE WORLD.Daring but clever…IMAGINE-imagine there’s no countries it isn’t hard to do.these kind of lyrics encouraged my writing with clever word play.the song working class hero describes john Lennon perfectly.a true hero in my eyes and again scathing lyric.
