The Difference Between Writing a Verse a Chorus and a Bridge

Tells the difference of writing a verse a chorus and a bridge what to say how to put it in rhythm the do’s and don’ts.

When writing any genre of music one has to set there song up with a certain structure, now the structure varies depending on which genre of music you’re writing for. However most songs will feature at least two of the following, a verse, chorus, and bridge. Understanding the difference be each is simple you must first understand why they are used. First I will discus the verse, a verse will tell your story it will give the listeners the whereabouts of the topic the setting the theme the problem it all really depends on the topic. But for example if I was doing a song about going to the club I would probably in the verse talk about my plans, I would mention what I was wearing perhaps, how many beautiful ladies I was anticipating, and perhaps a particular dance I would be doing. The verse is usually the beginning of most R&B , Pop and country songs.

So the verse usually pose as an intro. After a verse it is usually followed by a chorus however there are some forms that will actually run two verse’s back to back the the chorus or bridge. The chorus is the heart of the song it must be the best part of the song most people only listen to the beat and the hook their attention spains don’t last long for verse’s usually they want move they want to dance to the music so your chorus has to do just that. Also known as a hook , your chorus must hook them, catchy easy to remember something once they hear once maybe twice it’s stuck in there heads the rest of the day or week.

The hook is the attention grabber before it was the verse introducing the song and bang the song speaks in the hook! Now in pop and R&B songs particularly there are bridges involved. The bridge of the song is that part that should be unexpected it should come in and change the feel of the song in some way it should definitely not be on the same pace as the verse or chorus. But give them a different vibe on the situation if you’ve been cocky throughout break down in cry give the story a twist. If you been talking about something you dislike rather calm being patient about the situation all of sudden get in rage let the song have it, spill your guts. Go to that place that you usually don’t because you think about it and soon as you do you come back to reality. Go and this time without thinking but excepting the invitation for creativity to come into it’s world for a second.

Tell or make up another side of you hear the bridge is the part you try to be most creative with showing a side of you with your words that perhaps you wouldn’t normally show openly but it is because your writing it down your able to act it out. And that is the difference between writing a verse , chorus and bridge. The right direction is to work freelance you have to advertise for yourself you have post blogs writing about the craft proving you know what you are talking about then you have to create a profilio (a website featuring demo’s of your work) it is best when creating a demo of your work to get it recorded so people know what it sounds like as well as being able to read the lyrics have both available. Then just continue writing blogs and posting up your contact email always check your contact email and soon enough some one will respond. Be sure to also include that you require payment before you give out material because you don’t want to be used. Also try to always let people know the price before hand this saves time because if you don’t alot of people will just contact you regarding how much you charge. paypal.com is the most secure way. It just takes hard work and can do spirit. God bless and good luck to you in gaining ultimate success.
