This is a little info on the scope of politics and music in Nigeria.
One Day-By Eldee
I like this song the most because it uses Nigeria as a point of contact to the rest of the world. The song warns, advises and gives hope-it is a masterpiece. I also like the fact that two of my best Nigerian musicians where glimpsed in the video-enjoy!
For Instance-By 2face Idibia
2face Idibia-an MTV award winner for his masterpiece “African Queen”-demonstrates I this song what leadership in Nigeria and other countries should be like. I also like it because it is a bit hypothetical-it puts you in the place of a leader and make you think of what you would do with power if you happen to possess it.
I Go Yarn-By Eldee
This is an earlier piece by Eldee which I mostly love for its revelation of the bad side of the country and what we could do to make things better. Naturally, it is good to be proud of your country but at the same time, if you hide too much truth, people get hurt.
Hardlife-By Blackface
My all time favourite! This is the song that tells the politician-We know what you guys are doing and it is just a matter of time before yawa go burst! Blackface who use to be band mates with 2face (“The Plantation Boyz” contained 2face, Blackface and Faze).
E Dey Pain Me (I feel the pain)-By Blackface
This is one of the best songs ever1.The graphics has just as much to tell you as the lyrics-it unveil explicitly what is possible in the ghetto.
I believe that if what you do have a negative effect on other peoples lives, you should stop doing it-there are many roads to riches but the easy ones not only put you in danger, you also endanger other people’s lives. Let us all sing the way we feel and fight for good. People of the world should stand for what is right-and if it is too dangerous to come out and spill the whole bag of beans, put it in a song and I will sing with you.
I leave this with Edris Abdukareem-Jaga jaga
This is a very low-quality video but the message was explosive in Nigeria in the last decade and is still a stimulant for change.
Make the talk-2Shotz feat 9ice

This is a good perspective on the issue. Music does reach people in more ways than you could otherwise, and gives an outlet to their frustrations. Too bad greed seems to be a worldwide issue among goverment and other officials. In some ways, I think the countries could get further ahead if it were run by regular citizens without the politians.
